Elizabeth Webster BVSc BSc MRCVS
Clinical Director
Liz received a degree in zoology from Bangor University in 2001, and qualified in veterinary work from Liverpool University in 2005. Since she has spent time in mixed and small animal practice, and developed a particular love for general practitioner work. She enjoys competing in dressage with her horse, and has a cat, a whippet and a toddler to keep her busy!

Sally Pemberton-Wood BVSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Sally qualified from Liverpool University in 2014, and joined us in 2018. She loves cats, big and small, and spent time on a game reserve in South Africa where she helped hand-rear lion cubs and servals. She has three cats of her own, Frankie, Matilda and Dizzy, and is happy to be one of our resident crazy cat ladies!

Jenny Rich
Veterinary Surgeon
Jenny joined the team in 2023 after graduating from Bristol University. She grew up just a few miles away from the practice, on the other side of Caerphilly Mountain. She likes getting stuck into everything but has a particular interest in diagnosing and treating hormonal disorders. She has a mischievous spaniel and a small flock of chickens at home.

Lucy Thomas
Veterinary Surgeon
Lucy graduated in 2018 from Bristol and spent 4 years at her first practice in Somerset. She spent a year as a locum vet in the Caerphilly area before officially joining the team in January 2024. She enjoys all aspects of first opinion care, including both consulting and surgery, with a particular interest in ophthalmology and dentistry. She is both a cat and dog lover, with a soft spot for sighthounds since her family in Wrexham rescued a lurcher and an ex-racing greyhound. In her free time Lucy enjoys running, horse riding and exploring the countryside.

Sarah Light
Practice Manager
Sarah joined the team in 2022 after working in another veterinary practice for 6 years. Shortly after joining the team as Senior Receptionist, she progressed to Practice Manager and she thoroughly enjoys supporting and helping the team.In her spare time she enjoys camping, exploring and going on adventures with her husband, son, cocker spaniel Fred and catching up with friends. -
Carrie Davies RVN
Senior Nurse
Carrie joined us in 2012, after working at a veterinary hospital in Cardiff for 14 years. She grew up always surrounded by animals, and is particularly interested in educating owners on animal welfare. She has a dog and a horse, who along with her three young children take up most of her spare time!

Sian Burrows RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Sian has been at Caerphilly since 1986, and she knows pretty much every client and their animals! She likes running nurse clinics, and loves talking to clients and bonding with their pets. Out of work she has 12 ponies, with which she goes to driving shows and competitions, as well as dogs and three cats, one of which is 20!

Claire Mortimore RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Claire qualified in 2006 and joined the team in 2016 after working in various practices around South Wales. She has a passion for all things feline and recently became our cat advocate and aims to gain a certificate in feline nursing in the near future. She also has an interest in dentistry and educating clients in all aspects of dental health and hygiene. At home, Claire has two Maine coons and a young family to keep her busy.

Cassie Maggs RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Cassie has worked in veterinary practices since 2012 and trained as a veterinary nurse with Caerphilly Vets in 2016. She has previously worked in emergency care and referral clinics including working with Noel Fitzpatrick ‘The Supervet’. Cassie has particular interests in Rabbit care and Dog behaviour and is currently studying a Degree in canine behaviour and Training.
Cassie is also the clinical coach for student nurses at CVC and lectures part-time at Coleg Gwent in Veterinary Nursing.
In Cassie’s spare time she enjoys mountain hiking and competing in agility with her Toy Poodle, Daphne

Hattie Frape RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hattie is a newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse and she finished her studies at Harper Adams University in 2023. Hattie carried out her student placement here at Caerphilly Vets and started working here full time in July 2023, she is very excited to be working with the Caerphilly Vets family again. At home Hattie has a naughty tortie cat who loves her treats and her sleep. -
Tracy Stevenson
Receptionist
Tracy is born and bred in Caerphilly, and has been a part of the reception team for over 25 years. She looks after the insurance claims and enjoys getting stuck in to new challenges and mucking in when needed. At home, she has two young grandsons who take up a lot of her spare time, along with her nine-year-old labrador.

Sue Hopkins
Receptionist
Sue joined the team in 2006, and loves working on reception, making friends with clients and their pets – she hates seeing animals in distress so nursing was a no go! Her hobbies include spending time with friends, eating out and caravanning with her husband and their two elderly but much-loved jack russells.

Jessica Gammon
Receptionist
Jess joined the reception team in 2022. Born in England, she moved to South Wales in 2016 for university and has stayed put ever since. She loves her job in reception; meeting and greeting all the furry patients and is the superstar who runs our social media accounts. At home Jess is a self diagnosed book worm with a love for all things fantasy and romance. She is also a devoted dog mum to her adorable, very spoilt Frenchie Violet. -
Emma Brooks BSc (hons), PGDip VetPhys, MIRVAP
Clinic Assistant
Emma is our clinic assistant, has achieved a post-graduate diploma in veterinary physiotherapy from University of Nottingham in 2019 and in 2020 is studying an additional year to complete her Masters looking at the public perception of veterinary physiotherapy. She is particularly interested in post-op rehabilitation, arthritis and improving performance in canine and equine athletes. When not in work she enjoys horse riding, baking and exploring with Herbert the dog.

Kate Grenfell
Student Nurse
Kate joined the team in 2020 as a nursing assistant. Shortly after she returned to college to become a veterinary nursing student. She is passionate about her nursing career and being able to help animals of all aspects, young and old.
Kate has recently enjoyed learning more about laboratory techniques and looking under the microscope for interesting things.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially chasing her son and her three lovely dogs, around!

Aidan Richards
ANA
Aidan joined the Practice in July 2024 after moving to Pontypridd from Somerset. Aidan made the big jump with his partner (and their black and white cat, Star) so that she was able to go to uni. Since moving Aidan has acquired a white hand reared kitten called Stolas who happens to be a handful. When at home Aidan enjoys spending some of his time playing video games, reading and the rest of it out with his friends.

Luke Barkley
Senior Receptionist
Luke joined the practice, in February 2023, as senior receptionist. Luke loves the fact that every day is different. He can be getting stuck into insurances one minute, on reception the next and then looking through pet health plans. Most of all he loves meeting everyone and their fur babies.
In Luke’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and two dogs. Luke also follows his first love, Cardiff City, all around the country.

Kerri-Anne Cook
Receptionist
Kerri-Anne joined the practice in 2022 as a receptionist. You will normally find her waiting to greet clients and their furry friends with a welcoming smile. Kerri-Anne loves to fill the practice with laugher so you will probably hear her before you see her.
Kerri-Anne spends most of her spare time running around after her little boy and her miniature dachshund, who are always causing mischief.
Along side this Kerri-Anne has a love and passion for animals and reading.

Rowan Jones
Receptionist
Rowan joined the reception team in January 2024 and loves spending time with all of the clients pets and making them feel welcome at the practice. At home art has always been a passion of Rowan’s and in their free time they love to draw and paint. Rowan also has a cocker spaniel called Fred and a cat called patch, who are the very best of friends.
