Dogs should be routinely vaccinated against:Vaccinations at Caerphilly Vets

  • Canine parvovirus
  • Canine distemper virus
  • Leptospirosis
  • Infectious canine hepatitis.
  • Canine kennel cough

Puppy vaccinations can be started from 8 weeks of age and consist of 3 vaccinations, given 2 weeks apart. We advise that your pup is not exercised in areas near standing water – ponds, reens or slow moving rivers until 1 week following its third vaccination. However, they can go out for socialisation after their 2nd vaccination as long as you avoid those areas.

Booster vaccinations are recommended every year to keep your dog healthy. These are free to SCALLYWAGS members.

If your dog is not currently protected please contact reception as you may be eligible for one of our special offers.

Kennel cough vaccines are recommended for all dogs but is very important if your dog is boarding in a kennel. This vaccine is usually given intra-nasally (into a nostril) and protects against parainfluenza virus and bordetella bronchiseptica.

The Kennel Cough vaccination is free to SCALLYWAGS members.

Dogs travelling abroad may require a rabies vaccination, and will need a pet passport.
